Board of directors

November 2, 2009 REAL ESTATE No Comments
All  condominiums in the GTA have a  board of directors who are charge to act  as the “voice” in regards to the  interests and requests of the owners in the building. Usually a condo board has a odd number of members for voting purposes. A board member can serve for no longer then 3 years, and new members are elected for 2-3 year term, so the board always has a wide variety of experience and fresh faces. Board members are elected by residents who own in the condominium at the annual general meeting.Every building also has a property manager who plays an important role in the  daily function of a condominium. The Board members are people who come from within the condo community of the corporation.  These members are encouraged want to meet all the  residents and also live as neighbours, however that can be difficult if they’re always telling people what to do and having to become the “police” of the building. Therefore, a property manager is on board to communicate and enforce the rules of the condominium and  the decisions that com from the board.
