There are certain things you need to consider when doing any home renovationsto boost the sale of your home.  You want to make sure your putting your money into the right areas of your home. You wouldn’t want to put thousands of dollars in putting new wallpaper up  in your bedroom,you want to make sure any upgrades you do make you money not loose money.

There are some keys areas of a home which will help increase the value. The first area would be in the kitchen, you would want to consider re facing or changing dated cabinets and changing the hardware to something new and mondern.Refurbishing old cabinets can quickly pull your kitchen into the 21st century. The next item in the kitchen would be “kitchen counters” get rid of the old dated laminate and replace it with a nice smooth granite or corian countertop.

The next item on the list would be your plumbing,its is usually out of sight and out of mind in most cases however, upgrading pipes should be a major priority for sellers who own older homes. Copper pipes are a big improvement over galvanized pipes, which will corrode over time.

Moving to the exterior of the home two key items that should be considered is your roof and windows. Alot of buyers always get concerned about the age of a roof. If your roof is more then 10 years old, get it inspected and if needed to be replaced purchase a 20year to 30 year material.

And lastly your windows, wave goodbye to single- paned widnows. Be sure to upgrade your windows, not only will it make the home look newer and fresh but it will also put money back into your pocket by saving on your heating and cooling bills by 25%.
