Home sweet home, whether your rent or own you need to love and enjoy where you live! There are many design savvy ways of making your rental space trendy knowing that down the road you will not be able to make the profit from your upgrading back or take it with you.
1. You crazy with furniture! Don’t hold off buying a good quality leather arm chair, furniture is a great way to show your style and when your lease is up, pack it up and move on! However don’t over clutter with hopes that one day you will have a home to fill with furniture, its all about quality not quantity. Choose some nice signature pieces that will stay with you all of your life!
2.Do not wallpaper any walls!!! Yes wallpaper has made a come back however it is not the most practical especially for a renter’s pocket book. 3.The best way to change the mood is paint! Colour can really set off mood. It also really shows your style personality and for $30.00 for a gallon of paint you can’t go wrong. At the end of your lease term be prepared to prime the walls for the Landlord.
4. Do not invest tons of money in things you cant take with you, such has hardwood floors, built in book shelves, crown moulding, granite counter tops etc. This is something the Landlord can upgrade on there own if the choose to update their property.
5. Express your style with accessories, go nuts with colourful pillows, throws, curtains, candles, wall art etc. These are things you can change up many times throughout the year and not have to worry about. Buying art work can be a great investment too! so find your Picasso and put it on that wall!
